The Precinct – What’s Next?

We wanted to take a moment to say a huge thank you to all of the players who have helped support us during what has been, dare we say it, a criminally good launch for us!

We’ve been blown away by all of the positive comments we’ve received and all of the useful bug reports and feedback that you have sent our way. We wanted to assure you that, even though we may not respond to every single review or report, we are looking at all of them and incorporating them into our future strategy.

Together with Kwalee, we’ve been tracking your most urgent and requested fixes. Our programming team is already hard at work tackling the biggest issues:

  • General Bug Fixes – We can’t thank you enough for sharing such detailed bug reports with us! This has been a huge help when it comes to diagnosing and fixing bugs. In a game of this scope, the potential for edge cases is huge, but we’re prioritising and fixing the major ones you’ve uncovered.
  • Quality of Life Improvements – You’ve flagged areas where the experience could be smoother, so we’re going through all of your feedback and determining what quality of life changes we could implement in future updates.
  • Crime Rate Balancing – Crime in Averno City may be bad, but we want to keep it at least somewhat realistic. We’ve heard your feedback about too many overlapping incidents and we’re working on it. Expect some rebalancing here.
  • AI Behaviour – We’ve heard your feedback when it comes to AI behaviour and what you expect, so we’re looking into it and planning to adjust it accordingly.
  • Escort Unit Fixes – We’ve been told that the escort units aren’t doing their jobs, which is simply unacceptable! We’re making sure they do.

This is what we’re focusing on in the short-term, but in the mid- to long-term we’re also compiling suggestions from your feedback to decide what extra features and content we can add to The Precinct in the future. We are committed to adding more content to the game, but we haven’t decided yet exactly what that will be.

We wanted to take the time to reassure all of our players that this is not the end of the road for our plucky rookies and that there’s definitely more to come, so watch this space!

  1. would love more SWAT/ tactical stuff such as outfits, vehicles, and missions! Feel like it’s such a vital part of policing. Amazing work and amazing game.

  2. City Has Finally Cleaned Up Its Street…

    of corpses that is.

So what is next? Is there going to be another update? So far we’ve requested:
    – Towtrucks……check!
    – Ambulances…..check!
    – Coroners……..check!
    – K9 Units………check!

Everything that people wanted most, including me has been added. The question in my mind is where are the developers going from here?

A new game possibly? Multiplayer support? Firefighting? Animal Cops? Coast Guard? Maybe a whole detective update – Did we finally pass the test after putting all the gang leaders behind bars? Inquiring minds would love to know.

The game is epic. Let’s be honest. It has better graphics than American Fugitive in my opinion, certainly better than the original GTA Classic. It’s got a solid storyline. Awesome missions keep us busy, and its a never ending job; always things to do.

    Suggestions:

Well I love the detective and firefighter updates I mentioned above. It would definitely add to the plethora of things to do. I would maybe add an off-duty storyline too with an apartment or house. Maybe make real-estate something to work toward. Add a paycheck system and places to spend our hard earned currency. Perhaps make the gas stations functional and the cars run out if we drive too long; have to call AAA and have a tow truck fill us up.

Strip clubs? ok maybe not for all ages, but cops in the real world definitely do frequent these places. Maybe make the cop bar useful… getting drunk after hours, getting into bar fights,

Lots of fun to be had here. Maybe transit cops. Add a train or subway system where we have to patrol the stations or trains.

Well let us know 🙂 and thanks for a great timeless game!!

  3. could there be career streams? Like rookie, traffic, tow, patrol officer, K9, swat, detective? Each stream has a number of side quests/story lines? Also maybe a crime rating for each area? If you recently patrolled and made bunch of arrests there is less violent crimes. Something to reward you for cleaning up the streets.

  4. Great work on the updates!

I think a new map expansion would be a great addition to the game! Maybe a more suburban area and farm area outside the city. And another precinct office in that jurisdiction.

Also adding new non gun related gadgets to the game would be cool. For example the fire extinguisher and flashlight are great. What other gadgets could be added?

Further, what about adding other emergency services like ambulances and fire trucks? You could also add new mission types like providing a police motorcade for the mayor.

    Keep up the good work!

    1. also would it be possible to add an extra standard third person camera angle where the camera follows from directly behind the character so we can see the sky and surroundings at ground level? I know this is an isometric game but the option would be cool!

  5. Hey Fallen Tree Games, love the gritty ’80s cop vibe in The Precinct! Please add a Roadblock Checkpoint Mode—let us set up barricades on highways, run random stops, check IDs/papers, and hunt down wanted suspects on the fly. It’d make patrols way more intense and replayable! 🚔🛑

  6. Loving the game so far, it’s obvious a lot of hard work has been put into it and I would definitely put it as the best police sim available currently in a great setting. It also great to see you’re planning to add features in the future! Personally I think it would be good to allow variation in uniform from inside the locker rooms, add/remove hats/jackets/vest etc or an adoption for plain clothed patrols is plain vehicles!

An unrealistic suggestion would be to have a version set in 1970s/1980s London or London inspired fictional city that’s just by British bias though! Keep up the good work guys, looking forward to future updates.

    1. add a SWAT team with hard missions going on the Sewer system Underground the city hunting the most Lethal criminal organizations some Gottan dark city 🙂🔥
